What is up, my friends!
While our publication stands firm on being impartial with the recent geopolitical events, the question of progress at what cost remains. On a lighter note, last week’s launch of FIFA Rivals is a welcome relief. It goes to demonstrate actual progress being made in the adoption of Web3, which can often be viewed as unrefined by the mainstream.
That sense of achievement carries into this week’s Top Story. From Proof of Stake to Proof of Progress, we take a look at the past week’s developments across the Polkadot ecosystem. Whether it’s proof of concept, proof of attendance, or proof of XYZ, the momentum to realise the vision of Web3 is real.
WagMedia is also making progress on the development front, as Niftesty and Ikhaled have been awarded an Ink!ubator 2.0 grant for a treasury management solution. The treasury flow application will not only supplement the Wag Platform, but could eventually be adopted by other missions such as The Kus, UX bounty, and more
As per usual, we’ll be rounding up the latest news to keep you up to date on the action.

Top Story of the Week - Proof of Progress
What’s fraggin’, Smurfs? While the MongolZ summoned their warrior powers in Austin this week, the rising mojo of Team Vitality fueled their domination of the Blast.tv CS2 Major, ultimately clinching the victory. What does this have to do with Polkadot, you ask? Well, the Nova Wallet and Heroic teams were there actively supporting a unique e-sports and blockchain activation.
It went well beyond proof-of-attendance NFTs, as Nova Wallet’s Nova Shots prediction dApp delivered proof-of-engagement from both the audience and viewers at home. Each participant was airdropped 1000 Blast tokens at the beginning of the tournament, which they could trade for tokens representing the eight CS2 teams.
The aim of the game was to hold as many tokens as possible for the grand final winner. Prices fluctuated in real time, affected by each kill, game, or match outcome. It wasn’t just a matter of choosing a winner and holding until the end. By trading actively, players had a chance to maximize their portfolio size and claim a greater share of the 2000 USDC prize-pool.
Gaming culture these days has long forgotten Jolt Cola-fuelled basement LAN parties. Blast.tv packed the 15,000-capacity Moody Center to the rafters. Meanwhile, the Nova Wallet and Heroic booth ensured that the concourse was equally buzzing, drawing in solo warriors to take a shot to become the CS2 PVP king of the hill.
Little did they know that a very formidable opponent was waiting in the wings. It was none other than Minh Le, the legendary creator of Counter-Strike. His presence drew in even bigger crowds, pulling focus away from the main event itself and giving the booth a headline moment of its own.
But if that old-school LAN party spirit still calls you, Webzero has got your back. Hot on the heels of the Berlin Blockspäti, Blockspace Brooklyn, in support of NFT NYC and Permissionless. It delivered a proof-of-presence forgrassroots gamer energy, minus the aromas, flickering CRTs, and 28.8kbps internet speeds……………
