What is up, my friends!
Animal spirits have been stirring. Following last week’s liberation day-esque blip, momentum with Ethereum and ETH treasury plays has some talking alt season. Not to confuse matters, there are those who remain wary of the signals. Then there are those taking liberty with alts, or circling the arc.
Meanwhile, the infrastructure on Polkadot has also been stirring, with more developments expected to follow. Things are stepping up, and this week’s Top Story catches up with the revolution that is OpenGov. Recent murmurs of adjustment are perhaps what’s needed to tame the relentless toll on the community of the world’s largest DAO.
We finally get round to recapping last month’s standout content by WagMedia’s creator economy in our Featured Report. There’s certainly been some decent effort from the community to make some adjustments. For those needing to find an alternative from yapping, you could try wagging.
Wrapping up the weekly musing, while edition 111 is not typically considered a milestone, you can be assured that our coverage remains DOT Dot dot!

Top Story of the Week - OpenGov Revolution
Written by yay.oi
What’s up, shakers? It seems that crypto-economic reform was just the appetizer, as the world’s largest DAO is back in the kitchen. OpenGov is on the menu, and if all goes according to the recipe, we could be in for a serious stir-up.
As covered in Wag is OpenGov, it was not that long ago that Polkadot governance underwent a serious upgrade. The original system, Gov1, was a foundation, but the wider community was hungry for more responsibility.
The overhaul removed the more centralized Council, putting treasury spending in the hands of the public, opening up a wave of referenda, and prompting spirited debate about some big spends. Fast forward to 2025, a new trend of conservative spending has emerged, with Decentralized Voices (DV) delegates holding the balance as fatigue hits the smaller voters.
This isn’t the end of the story. As DOT is DAO laid out, ecosystem agents have been hustling to shape a clear, unified vision for the future, forging a larger and more powerful force for Polkadot's growth.
Now, a fresh initiative is proposing a series of adjustments to OpenGov. It aims to cut voter fatigue, raise proposal quality, and set the stage for more accountable, domain-driven spending.
Open for voting now on the Wish for Change track, the proposed adjustments would reduce the number of active proposals, ensuring only well-supported, high-quality proposals reach the floor. The longer game focuses on moving the majority of spending into bounties and collectives with clearly defined budgets in each domain..………………

Featured Report - July’s WAG Supply
Written by Dodow
It appears that some in the WagMedia creator’s economy have taken on board Fine-June Content, as there has been a noticeable improvement. During July, along with regular submissions and non-Anglo content, there was also the OpenGuild Bounty, which saw several waggers earn decent rewards.
Jesse, in particular, has been embracing the feedback and did quite well, with the Proof of Personhood thread gaining strong impressions and a monthly WM creator high of 45 DOT. Surprisingly, the piece was even liked by the Cardano Foundation.
Providing perspectives on ecosystem narratives was also something Jesse managed to pull off on topics such as Polkadot token supply and JAM, which received 17 and 18 DOT respectively. A further 17.5 DOT was rewarded for a guide showing how to set up a phone as a mini-cloud to earn rewards with Acurast.
Also exploring the topic of DOT tokenomics was Coco, who questioned why Polkadot has inflation. Likewise, when positioning Polkadot in Africa, Eli asked why the continent holds untapped Web3 potential. They received 20 DOT and 15 DOT respectively.
The month also saw hot moments amplified with timely content. Ravi highlighted Polkadot hitting 1 million active accounts in an infographic and earned 25 DOT. And towards the end of the month, 20 DOT went to Lily, who used a combination of text and an infographic to welcome the new era of Ethereum-compatible dApp development.
When it comes to moments, LV has been seizing them with live streams that also serve as a way of providing tips to fellow waggers focused on video content. Check out his clip covering Hydration TVL and listings, which earned him 23 DOT..………………
